Our Mission Statement Volunteers at the Bargain Box support the mission of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Proceeds from the sale of our goods serve the church and those in need in our community. Our Designated charities: Bread of Life, Malden, Reading Food Pantry, North Reading Food Pantry Mission of Deeds, Reading, Ecclesia Ministries (Boston Common Church), Rector’s Discretionary Fund Thank you for supporting our mission.
Our fabulous Bargain Box Thrift Shop is located in the church basement. It contains a treasure trove of wonderful items -- all donated by parishioners, friends and neighbors. A percentage of the proceeds go to the church with the rest going to various local and global charities and outreach projects. The Bargain Box provides affordable access to clothing, toys, books and household items for those in need as well as great bargain shopping opportunities for parishioners and neighbors. Donations may be dropped off during store open hours, and on Wednesdays from 9am-12pm. Kindly see one of our workers when dropping off donations.
Donations we are no longer accepting: Old computers, televisions, encyclopedias, ALL books, Glassware (single and sets), Dishes (single and sets), Bikes, Large Toys, Baby gear (High chairs, car seats, etc., Curtains.
Bargain Box hours are every Friday, 10am-3pm, Saturdays, 10am-1pm. Donation can be dropped off Wednesdays, from 9am-12pm, and during the weekend when the shop is open.
